Why are we called 'Brownies'?

The Brownies sat in a circle around their toadstool, pond and owl and listened carefully to the Brownie Story to learn about two girls, Betty and Sally who found a Brown Owl in the woods over 100 years ago and what happened after that. There were many actions linked with key words to ensure they all stayed 'wide awake'!
